Upcoming Webinars
Building America offers free webinars focused on improving energy efficiency of residential buildings. Building America would like to make you aware of the following webinar series, which is sponsored by DOE's Office of Weatherization & Intergovernmental Program.
Building Sales with Certification
To support professional certification opportunities for the home energy efficiency workforce, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is sponsoring a series of webinars hosted by Sustainable Ideas, beginning on April 18, 2012. These webinars target building performance companies and focus on new certifications, which are currently being developed under the Guidelines for Home Energy Professionals project.
Offered by the Building Performance Institute and funded by DOE and the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), the four certifications focus on the most common job classifications in the home energy upgrade industry: energy auditor, retrofit installer, crew leader and quality control inspector. The webinar series will examine how companies can grow their business by offering quality energy upgrades delivered by nationally certified employees. Topics will include:
- Industry opportunities
- How building science and sales connect
- Preparing for certification prerequisites
- Update on the background check requirements
- Registering for the pilot certification program.
