National Laboratories

The U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) national laboratories play an important role in the development and commercialization of new energy technologies. Of the many national laboratories, 13 directly support the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. House Hearings on Tech Transfer

In June 2010, the House of Representatives' Subcommittee on Research and Science Education held a hearing entitled "From the Lab Bench to the Marketplace: Improving Technology Transfer." Witnesses included Neil Kane of Advanced Diamond Technologies Inc., a Technology Commercialization Fund awardee.
