Apply Now for 2012 EnergyValue Housing Award Challenge
May 24, 2011
Builders, contractors, and remodelers of new and existing energy-efficient houses are encouraged to participate in the 2012 EnergyValue Housing Award® (EVHA) competition. Apply now—the deadline for applications is July 29, 2011. And, plan to attend the webinar on July 7 to learn more.
Since 1996, EVHA has honored builders passionate about incorporating energy efficiency in the design, construction and marketing of homes. In 2010, the contest was opened to remodelers as well. This prestigious competition is managed by the NAHB Research Center and supported by the U.S. Department of Energy through its Building America program, in cooperation with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory.
Applicants may submit projects in three climate regions (cold, moderate, and hot). New construction categories include affordable, custom/demonstration, multifamily, and production; existing home divisions are single family, multifamily, and reconstruction/demonstration. Submitted homes must have been completed after January 31, 2009 and before application deadline (July 29, 2011).
Winners will be recognized at the 2012 EVHA event on February 8, 2012, in Orlando, Florida, in conjunction with the International Builders Show. Visit the EVHA website to learn more about the competition, read about the 2011 winners, and download the application form.
Also, plan to attend the webinar on July 7, 2011, to learn about the history and goals of the EnergyValue Housing Awards (EVHA) Program, including comments from past winners and an overview of how to complete a quality application. Register now.
