8th Annual Federal Environmental Symposia Call for Presentation Abstracts
February 5, 2009
The 2009 Federal Environmental Symposia Call for Presentations is now open and will run through Friday, February 13, 2009.
This year's Symposia theme, Progress and Transition, will focus on Federal sustainability initiatives over the past year while expanding into new areas of interest and concern with the changing Presidential Administration. For the second year, there will be two Symposia:
- Symposium West – Grand Mound, WA: June 2-4, 2009
- Symposium East – Bethesda, MD: June 16-18, 2009
To make these Symposia a success, please consider participating in one or both of the conferences as a presenter – to convey information, generate discussion, and highlight your organization’s own achievements and challenges in this extensive field. Presentation categories include:
- Environmental Management Systems
- Greenhouse Gas Measurement and Reduction
- Green Buildings and Sustainable Campuses
- Green Purchasing
- Pollution Prevention and Toxics
- Fleet Petroleum Reduction and Alternative Fuel Use
- Recycling / Waste Management
- Electronics Stewardship
- Natural Resources
- Out of the Box Thinking: New Ideas
With such a broad array of topics, these events promise to be exciting and informative gatherings.
Presentation opportunities are open to Federal employees, contractors serving in direct support roles to Federal agencies (and presenting topics solely related to these functions), and individuals from industry, academia, and state and local governments working on Federally-focused projects or participating in Federal partnerships (and presenting topics solely related to these functions). Selected presenters will be notified beginning March 9, 2009.
