Navy Issues RFP for Solar Power Purchase Agreement

The U.S. Navy issued a request for proposals (RFP) for renewable energy under a power purchase agreement. The RFP covers the design, installation, operation, and ongoing maintenance of renewable energy systems at Navy and Marine Corps installations in the southwest.  

The request is for a multiple-award indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract that may be awarded to a total of five awardees. The Federal Government intends to award three initial tasks simultaneously for power purchase agreements in conjunction with the award of the IDIQ contract. Initial task sites are:  

  • Naval Air Weapons Center, China Lake, CA
  • Marine Corps Logistics Base, Barstow, CA
  • Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twenty-nine Palms, CA  

A combination industry day and site visits for all three initial tasks will be held May 21, 2009. Proposals are due by 12:00 PDT on Monday June 29, 2009.
