U.S. Department of Energy - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

Federal Energy Management Program

FEMP Announces One-on-One Calls with Federal Financing Specialists (FFS)

September 24, 2013

The U.S. Department of Energy Federal Energy Management Program helps Federal agencies identify and obtain funding for energy efficiency, renewable energy, water conservation, and greenhouse gas management projects. Federal agencies cannot rely on Congressional appropriations alone to fund the energy projects needed to meet Federal requirements. Additional funding options are available, including:

  • Energy Savings Performance Contracts (ESPCs)
  • Utility Energy Service Contracts (UESCs)
  • ESPC ENABLE (ESPC for smaller facilities)

FEMP’s Federal Financing Specialists (FFSs) provide direct support to agencies by helping them determine which project funding mechanism provides the best solution. Carefully matching available funding tools with specific project needs can make the difference between a stalled, unfunded project and a successful project generating energy and cost savings. FFS support continues throughout the project based on the individual needs of the agency.

FEMP is offering one-on-one calls with your FFS. Federal facility energy, environmental, and sustainability managers and others can take advantage of this opportunity to ask questions and learn how FEMP can help your agency meet their energy efficiency goals. In addition to learning more about the different financing options, your FFS can share information on other FEMP resources including training, direct project technical support and guidance documents that simplify and streamline the project process. Those of you who have already started or completed a project can begin discussing project goals for the future.

Contact information for all three FFSs is provided below.
