The Solar America Initiative aims to reduce market barriers for solar energy technologies through technical outreach activities. These activities emphasize education and awareness to key solar stakeholders so they are positioned to make informed solar decisions.
Market transformation technical outreach projects will accomplish the following:
- Build relationships with decision makers (legislators, energy offices, public utility commissions, air quality offices, and utilities) enacting policies, programs, and plans that are key drivers for solar technology market transformation
- Provide stakeholders with solar best practices and current information about solar technologies
- Enable sweeping, progressive changes across large market areas for solar technologies
- Deliver key technical and informational assistance to utilities to promote their acceptance and use of solar technologies.
