DOE Requests Responses to PV Balance of System Request for Information
December 16, 2010
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Solar Energy Technologies Program wants feedback from the solar industry and relevant stakeholders to assist in the development of a potential Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to reduce photovoltaic (PV) balance of system (BOS) costs. DOE may decide to issue a FOA based on the input received from this RFI.
This is an opportunity for the solar community to comment on potential research, development, and demonstration (RD&D) topics to be addressed in the FOA, including the level of federal resources that should be devoted to each topic and the opportunities for cost reductions. The RFI also seeks input on how the various components and processes that make up PV BOS can best be categorized and quantified.
Comments must be received by January 31, 2011.
More information on this RFI is available.
